On the island of Calypso

On the island of Calypso
Compositions by Nardi furnish an ancient farm that has become a holiday home

On the enchanting island of Gozo, in the Maltese archipelago, according to legend home of the nymph Calypso - mentioned in the Odyssey - stands Sinjura. This old stone farm was fully restored to its original state, with the intention of making it a holiday residence.

Located in the village of Xaghra, the farm stands out for its square, clear-cut volumes and tuff, used to clad various parts of the large building. The underlying feature of the interior layout, in the kitchen, living spaces and the night area, is the continuous fusion between indoor and outdoor areas, and the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular wild nature all around the building.

Within a huge area bordered by dry-stone walls and palm trees, the large pool is accompanied by a tidy row of Atlantic sunloungers, whose colours, white for the fiberglass resin and dove grey for the canvas, harmoniously blend with the colours of the building.

The colour choices and design details of the sunloungers complement the outdoor dining area with its RIO extensible table and delightful Net armchairs. The striking outcome is a skilful blend of past and future, unspoilt nature and man-made construction, in entirely recyclable stone and resin.

Then the Net collection by Nardi, with its open-air lounges that include Net Bench loveseats, Net Relax armchairs and matching low table, is the protagonist of the charming spacious terrace on the second floor hosting the night area. The relaxing composition reproduces the neutral colours of white and grey that blend into the surrounding nature, offering a truly captivating panorama.

All Nardi furnishings, designed by Raffaello Galiotto, are easy to sanitize, weatherproof, stackable and entirely recyclable.
