Gran Cafè Torino

Gran Cafè Torino
A Liberty-style lounge in Palermo

Gran Cafè Torino represents the return of a kind of iconic “city lounge” to a historical area of the city of Palermo, the main aim of those who commissioned and designed it.

Located in an impressive early 20th century building near Palermo’s central railway station, the renovation project at the Gran Cafè Torino, developed by Studio Puccio Collodoro Architetti, has been designed with a soft, romantic look reminiscent of Italian Liberty style.

The choice of materials, shapes and colours is intended to recreate the atmosphere of an elegant city lounge, whereas the use of green micro-perforated sheet metal, featured in all spaces, is a refined recurring detail throughout the entire project. Restoration works were carried out in the four main rooms, all with imposing verticality of spaces, intentionally highlighted as part of the project.

In accordance with the Liberty style found throughout the coffee shop, the interior design features round shapes and delicate colours such as bamboo, dove grey and antique pink.

Our Bora chairs with armrests and Lido stools from the same collection were chosen in dove grey for the tea room of this evocative coffee shop. Lightweight, new and stackable, Bora and Lido are made of entirely recyclable fiberglass resin and stand out for their clear-cut, rounded lines and micro-perforated pattern.

Designed for both outdoor and indoor living spaces, Bora and Lido come in large dimensions to provide relaxing and safe support.
